By erecting windmills, improving energy efficiency in city-owned buildings and investigating geothermal heat for its train station, Saco has become the local leader in the current drive to create sustainable communities. These green moves caused the organizers of the Maine Going Green Expo to pick the city as the site for its Sept. 13-14 event.
