So it need not be the newest Mercedes S65 AMG (I just had to look that up since I am not up on my Mercedes lingo!) but instead maybe small things strategically placed around your home and in your life that evoke that same feeling of comfort, style and — lets face it — a feeling of entitlement, because we all deserve pleasure in this life.
So here are a few ways to add some luxury without the S65 AMG price tag:
• Change the look of curtain poles in an instant with bracket decorations. The contemporary additions magnetically stick to pole end caps. To add glamour to a simple pole, try a mother of pearl detail (check your local Home Depot or hardware store).
• Choose glass accessories. Elegant crystal and glass details are big this season. Seen everywhere from furniture to accessories, glass has had a big influence on lighting. A beautiful glass crystal table lamp will bring a sparkle to any room.
• Use new colors. Add the latest tones to your walls by painting canvases. Just pick some different sized canvases at your local art supply store and paint large, different sized stripes on one, a two-color pattern on another and on the last one just paint it all one color and place all on one wall. You made need help hanging them by someone who has “an eye” but what a simple way to add your own touch!
• Use texture. For a relaxed look, treat your home to a chunky knit throw in a warm creamy shade and drape it over a sofa or chair. Also, add some throw pillows with luxurious fabric — some silky, some thick cotton — this will instantly add a feeling of comfort.
• Try a bold pattern (beware home sellers — this is not for you!). Add interest to plain walls with a stencil. Choose a flower pattern in soft shades and make a large mural like design. This can really be fun to do and a conversation piece to boot. Again, go to your local art supply store and ask someone for a recommendation. They will be only too happy to help you with getting creative.
All of these ideas are 100% about how it makes you feel. This is one instance where, if it feels good, just do it!
