"Snowball" at Field Gallery
Walking on the east side of town
The East End is going to be hopping this First Friday, so put on your walking shoes and check out the “Snowball” event at FIELD GALLERY (74 India St.). Next door at the COOPER JACKSON GALLERY (70 India St.) you can view a group show, and then skip across the street to COFFEE BY DESIGN (67 India St.) and admire the work of David Cedrone, Andy Curran and Dennis Fournier.

Now head up to EMBER GROVE (247 Congress St.) where there’s a holiday show offering up the work of 20 Maine artists. Just up the street at NORTH STAR MUSIC CAFE (225 Congress St.) you can view the flower paintings of Marie Ahearn. Get ready to work those calf muscles as you trek up the hill to HOMEGROWN HERB & TEA (é Congress St.), where Adam Chau’s functional and fun “Teapot Circus” is on display.

Continue up the hill to FILAMENT GALLERY (181 Congress St.), where “The Naughty and The Nice” has something for everyone on your list. Next get yourself to the LAURA FULLER DESIGN STUDIO to see some sparkly stained glass relief work. Finally, the tour ends at FRASER ART STUDIO (81 Congress St.), showing the works of Elizabeth Fraser, Michael Fraser, Holly Karolkowski and Lori Rae Curole.

If all this climbing worked up your appetite, grab a bite at one of the nearby eateries. You’ll need the nourishment to make it back down the hill.
