"Knives," by Sean Hasey on view at Franklin Street Art Space.
If you’re still groaning under the weight of Thanksgiving leftovers, you won’t want to miss this month’s Biddeford Art Walk, taking place Thursday, Nov. 29 from 5-9 pm. Not only can you get some exercise, but you can pick up gifts for art lovers and view a number of stimulating displays. Follow the red balloons and look for these shows:

North Dam Mill gallery space, 2 Main St., features the “Home for the Holidays” show. Biddeford artists Padi Mayhew and Diane Nobel both create art that is decidedly unique and very local. Mayhew is a local fiber artist who makes all of her own paper, then meticulously cuts and tears and builds paintings out of her handmade fibers. Nobel is an art teacher at Biddeford High and is contributing oil paintings of the local landscape. And while you’re at the North Dam Mill, stop by The Sweet Specialist at Suite #– for some needed sugar to keep you going.

In A Bind Art Gallery at WiggleWeigle’s Books, 25 Alfred St., shows the photographic work of Bob Malbon of Biddeford and Maria Varnalis of Pennsylvania, along with selected works by a variety of artists on view for the holiday show.

Franklin Street Art Space, 41 Franklin St., exhibits a one-man show of recent work by Sean Hasey of Portland. Hasey’s interesting choice of subjects — cutlery, bullets — are transformed into figures with human-like qualities, still lives with an underlying mysterious, frenetic energy.

Foot Oasis & Aromatherapy Spa, 140 Main St., features work by emerging watercolor artist, Patricia Scammon, Heart of Biddeford Gallery, 205 Main St., highlights the work of watercolor painter Paul McDonough, Gallery 265, 265 Main St., features the works of Iona Desmond and McArthur Library, 270 Main St., exhibits “Picture Book Art.”
