See celebrity portraits, Maine images and works by nationally renowned photographers in the “Both Sides of the Camera” show, which opens Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Portland Museum of Art. This selection of 132 photographs comes from the collection of amateur photographer Judith Ellis Glickman, who splits her time between Portland and Los Angeles. This geographic divide is reflected in her collection, which focuses on Hollywood portraits and the work of local Maine photographers.
The show includes works by William Gottlieb, Dorothea Lange, Edward Steichen, Paul Strand, Edward Weston, Melonie Bennett, Paul Caponigro, Tonee Harbert and Scott Peterman. The show is on view through Jan. 6, 2008. FMI call 775-6” or visit www.portlandmuseum.org.
