The Portland Symphony Orchestra’s Designers’ ShowHouse is open through Sept. 30 at the Oakley Estate, 113 Foreside Rd. in Falmouth. This gorgeous seaside mansion features the handywork of 12 design teams and offers endless inspiration. You can learn even more by attending one of these ShowHouse special events. All of the events are free with admission, with the exception of the antique appraisal.

Tickets to tour the house cost $20 and it is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday noon-4 p.m. and is closed on Monday. Children under 10 are not permitted. FMI 842-0800.

Thomaston Place’s professional appraisers Kaja Veilleux and John Bottero will provide on-site valuations of antique or collectible items.
Suggested donation of $5 per item.

John Ferry, Food Service Director for the Betsy Ross House and cooking teacher for Portland Adult Education, shows how to prepare a fresh and flavorful meal with ingredients commonly found in the home. The menu will consist of different salads and a crab cake entree.

Q&A with PSO Musicians

Take part in a discussion with the musicians of the Portland Symphony Orchestra who will elaborate on what it is like to be a member of the PSO and the extremely competitive process for “winning” a position in an orchestra.
