The W.M. Schwind, Jr. Antiques & Fine Art booth at last year's show contained fine furniture, art and estate jewelry.
At last year's show, singer Barbara Streisand purchased the corner cupboard in this display from antiques dealer Chris Considine.
People come from far and wide for the high-quality furniture and decorative accessories at the annual Maine Antiques Dealers Association show. Last year’s show even attracted a star. Barbara Streisand that is, who arrived in Portland on her yacht and shopped for a home she was redecorating in Malibu, Calif.

No telling if the show will offer any celebrity sightings this year, but it is certain you will find Americana, folk art, fine arts, Adirondack items, Native American and Southwestern works, art glass, pottery, jewelry and other 18th, 19th and early 20th century pieces at this popular show.

The show, now in its 78th year, takes place this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16, at The Racket & Fitness Center at 2445 Congress Street. The show is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets cost $10 and on-site shipping is available.

On Saturday, the Brass Sisters, authors of the cookbook “Heirloom Baking” will sign their collection of early recipes in a modern format. FMI call 781-5367 or visit www.maineantiques.org.
