Art walking in Yarmouth

Follow the red balloons the last Thursday of the month

Unlike the First Friday Art Walks in Portland (which require many, many Fridays to make it to all the galleries) the Yarmouth Arts & Antiques Night provides a wonderful opportunity to check out this charming village while easily visiting all the venues that are open late for the event.

Held the last Thursday of each month through October (including tonight, Aug. 30), the walk features 18 businesses showcasing art, artists, musicians and antiques. The walk takes place from 5-7 p.m. on Main Street, and even the Farmers’ Market stays open late. Look for three red balloons outside each participating location to guide you on the walk.

This month you’ll find landscape photography by Lib Jamison and jewelry by Kelly Profenno at Coastal Maine Interiors, SK Green fiddle music at the Yarmouth Historical Society, student works at North Yarmouth Academy and limited edition giclée prints by Neil Welliver at the Yarmouth Frame Shop.
